v1.1.2 / TOC (2 chapters) / 01 may 12 / greg goebel / public domain

* In the early 1960s, the Soviet Mil OKB (experimental design bureau) introduced a new helicopter powered by twin turboshaft engines, the Mil "Mi-8". The "Hip", as it was codenamed by the West, proved an outstanding success, being built in a dizzying number of variants, and also led to an amphibious variant, the "Mi-14 Haze". The Mi-8 family remains in widespread service, and in fact new variants are being introduced. This document provides a history and description of the Mi-8 and Mi-14.
